Summer Term 2021
We made it to the Summer term! We are determined to end the year with our best work ever!!
The year 5 Maths will be taught by Mr VanGameren, and English will be taught by Mrs Gardiner
This term we will be studying the Anglo Saxons, and also The Rhine and Meditteranean.
Children are expected to read a minimum of 4 times a week. Reading will be a huge focus this year, so please listen to your child read as much as you can.
Each week the children will be sent home with a spelling list to learn. Children will be expected to write each word in a complete sentence. The books will be collected in each Monday, and new words will be sent home.
In science we will study Animals including Humans. The children will be doing both practical and written work.
In computing we will be using all the skills we have been learning, and putting them into programming.
This term PE will be on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.
Children should wear their PE kits to school that day, and as the weather gets colder, please make sure that they also have a track suit which they can take on and off.
Please make sure that your child can take their earrings out if they have pierced ears.
Please remember – If your child has their ears pierced during the school year, they cannot do PE for 6 weeks. PE is part of the national curriculum and it is very important that your child takes part in every session.
If you need to talk to me, please contact the school office, and I will ring you as soon as I can. You can also contact me on Seesaw.
Please sign up to Seesaw so that you can see what your child is learning in school.
I’m looking forward to another great term!
Mrs Gardiner and Mr VanGameren
