PHSE timetable w/c 22 February 2021 – download

Welcome Kingfishers!

We have made it to our final half term and what a year it has been!

In Maths, we will be focusing on polygons, area and perimeter and money .We will continue to use Times Tables Rockstars to learn both the multiplication and the division facts for a particular times table and Purple Mash for extra curricular activities. We will work on short and snappy times tables facts weekly as well as have a focused Arithmetic lesson once a week.

In Literacy, we will be looking at story settings, plot and dialogue. The children will begin by writing non-chronological reports and making our own PE games. We will then be moving on to character descriptions as well as narrative writing.

Our Guided Reading sessions will initially focus on our class book, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Each week, children will continue to focus on tricky words and complete phonics sessions in groups. We will also continue to develop our reading skills by using different texts to practice retrieval and inference.

Our science topic this term is Living Things and Habitats. We will be spending lots of time outdoors looking at the wildlife that lives in the school site. We will do a small focus on solids, liquids and gases also.

In Topic, we will be learning about Persia and Ancient Greece. We will  begin by learning about the story of Cyrus and progress to more learning about the Babylonian empire.

PE will continue to be on Monday and Friday so please make sure that you wear your PE kits on those days and ensure that you have taken your earrings out and that long hair is tied back. Remember the weather is much sunnier, so try to bring a water bottle and summer hat for when we go outside.

We are looking forward to an exciting term ahead and enjoying our last weeks together before September!
